Malaysian Irish Business Network (MIBN)
The MIBN is our equivalent in Malaysia. It is an organisation whose purpose is to develop and foster trade, services, education and investment between Ireland and Malaysia, while also offering a forum for the exchange of business views and experiences. By becoming a member of the Ireland Malaysia Association, you receive automatic membership of the MIBN.
The organisation has the following objectives:
- Networking
The activities of the MIBN include a mix of business and related social functions. Events organised by the MIBN include business luncheon presentations, seminars and dialogue sessions with relevant institutions. The social functions are a combination of informal gatherings and semi-formal events, designed to meet the needs of a diverse membership. These events will allow the development of good business contacts, not only within the Irish business community in Malaysia, but also with other foreign companies, Malaysian counterparts and government bodies.
- Communication and Information
Latest developments in the business world and members’ news will be communicated regularly. The MIBN will also provide business information to our members, individuals and companies interested in expanding bilateral trade and services. The MIBN will cooperate with Irish Government agencies and associations such as Enterprise Ireland in providing these services. Profiles of all MIBN member companies, including the services they provide, will be distributed to members should they wish to avail of this resource.
- Representation
The MIBN aims to serve as a link with other chambers and organisations with similar objectives in Malaysia and the wider Asia-Pacific region such as the Asia Pacific Irish Business Forum and the European-Union Malaysia Chamber of Commerce & Industry (EUMCCI).
- Membership
Membership is open to any individual or company with international interests. Membership will be by invitation and is subject to approval by the committee. Corporate and individual membership fees will be charged.
